Blithe Spirit

Hail to thee, blithe spirit!

When novelist Charles Condomine is preparing for his latest novel, on the subject of the occult, he thinks it might be a good idea to take part in a séance - purely for research - and so invites the somewhat eccentric medium, Madame Arcati, to lead the evening. Of course, things don't go to plan. Arcati's séance opens the door to an unwanted visitor - and soon Charles and his wife Ruth are playing unwilling hosts to his dear, departed first wife, Elvira - and Elvira has a very poor view of the second Mrs Condomine. She considers that things would be better - much better indeed - if she and Charles were reunited in the next life. And as soon as possible...

Noel Coward's record-breaking comedy - rarely out of production since its 1941 West End opening - is a perennial favourite and is brought to ghostly life by HumDrum for their Summer offering.
