The Mikado

It’s like this.

Nanki-Poo (the son of the emperor of Japan) is promised to Katisha (an ugly old bag) but disguises himself as a trombone-player (why wouldn’t you?) to escape her but falls in love with Yum-Yum (a beautiful airhead) although Yum-Yum is betrothed to Ko-Ko (the Lord High Executioner) who is going to marry her this very afternoon but not before he’s beheaded someone (finally) on the orders of the Mikado but by a quirk of fate Ko-Ko’s the next person due to be executed and the Mikado is paying a state-visit to check things out bringing Katisha with him and so a plan is needed so everyone can go home happy.

Nothing could possibly go wrong.

Could it?
