The 39 Steps

Remember what HumDrum did to The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (apart from abridging them severely)?

Well - they're back to do the same to John Buchan's The 39 Steps - and this time - breathe easy! - there's no audience participation!

The story of Richard Hannay's fight to prevent the theft of Britain's very secret top secret secrets* is retold in Patrick Barlow's wonderful 2005 comic adaptation.

Based largely on Hitchcock's 1935 film version, its cast of four play in excess of 140 parts between them. Oh, yes. The stage will be packed with thrills and laughs and dodgy accents and sweaty actors as HumDrum bring this comic delight to The Spring for the first time. Thrill as Hannay leaps from a speeding train! Marvel as HumDrum reproduce the famous cross-country bi-plane chase! Be astounded as the Forth Bridge is re-created on stage at The Spring before your very eyes!

Oh, go on. You know you want to.

*They're really very secret.
