Tom's Midnight Garden

Saturday Matinee at 2:30pm

With his brother ill, Tom is sent to stay with relatives in a tiny flat, in a vast Victorian house. There is no garden in which to play, only a small yard filled with dustbins.

He is forbidden to make any noise that may disturb the owner of the house, old Mrs Bartholomew, who lives on the top floor and is only seen when she comes down to wind her grandfather-clock.

Tom longs to go home.

Then, one midnight as he lies in bed, the grandfather-clock begin to strike.

...nine, ten, eleven, twelve...

Thirteen?

Curious to know what 13 o'clock might look like he goes down to the hall and opens the back door to let in some light.

And his life changes forever.

Based on Phillipa Pearce's 1958 Carnegie Medal-winning novel, Tom's Midnight Garden will appeal to all ages.
